We don't know for sure who's going to be out at the Dublin
Irish Festival's interdenominational church service on Sunday, August 3rd, but let’s
be there to meet them! Our Vista mission
statement is to follow Jesus, in community, transforming our world. I
wonder...do you really think we can and are transforming our world? It's
a tall order. How would you quantify such an effort? Is it arrogant to think we
truly are transforming our community? How would we know if we're doing well or
poorly at it? All good questions, and although it is difficult to answer many
of those questions, we look at it this way: If 1) each of us is being
transformed by Christ, and 2) each of us is interfacing with our community,
then it follows that our community must be being transformed. The old adage is
true, that you can only change the world one person at a time. In my humble
opinion the vast majority of folks attending Vista
sincerely
Just thought you would enjoy
knowing...not real sure how he told
me that i should show up to service Sunday, but the message spoke so strongly to
me... I decided it
was time to offer forgiveness as well as ask for forgiveness for [certain] situations. I had dinner with [them] last night and we did all the forgiving of the situation. Things went
really well and I have felt my heart release the hate and anger finally. I feel
so much better! We hugged and plan to keep in contact and to start building our
friendship again.
I am definitely loving being a part of Vista, and I have met some amazing
people...and I can't tell you how
blessed I feel to have met them all. They're all so welcoming and genuine; what
a special group of people! It's been so great for me because I am a newer
believer and I just moved to Columbus last June, so I'm still finding my way. I feel
like I've definitely found a home at Vista, which is so relieving and
exciting!
I just wanted to let you know how AWESOME the Easter service was. We came away from yesterday morning talking about how great it was - the message, the music, everything was amazing. I feel like i could've stayed there all day!
I do a bible study with about 10 women, some go to Vista while others belong to other churches. Today we ladies of Vista shared your message with the other women. It was awesome to see how they reacted. Wanting to serve and deciding to use their God given gifts.
I am seeing a lot of change and challenges pushing me in my private life, and it has allowed me to have faith like a mustard seed... ...this has really given me something to chew on! I am loving it, I am loving Vista, and I am loving the direction the Lord has shown you to take us as a church. Just some encouragement for you and all involved at Vista.
Wondering what to expect at our weekly gatherings?
Expect God. That's truly our best expectation. It's Him that we really need. Hopefully our casual and authentic atmosphere and friendly smiles will help you feel comfortable, but instead expect to be impacted in a fresh way by the God that created you.
We also try to simply be normal when we gather - meaningful music, natural prayers, understandable messages - with the expectation that God will supernaturally use it to affect our lives.
