Weekend

When considering where to serve, we would encourage you to discover your wiring. Take the Assessme.org oniine personality, skils, and leadership style assessment. It will help you find a fit (not throw a fit).

One of our favorite quotes originated with Bill Hybels, Pastor of Willow Creek Church near Chicago. He said:

“There’s nothing like the local church when it’s working right. Its beauty is indescribable. Its power is breathtaking. Its potential is unlimited. Whatever the capacity for human suffering, the church has a greater capacity for healing and wholeness. The potential of the local church is almost more than I can grasp! No other organization on earth is like the church. Nothing even comes close.”

Why would church be described in such an exciting way? Well, first of all, the church is God’s plan for reaching the world. He refers to the church as Jesus’ bride; she is being perfected as she waits for His return. And second, while we wait for Christ’s return, Jesus sent us the Spirit to guide, comfort and empower the church. Maybe the most exciting part for us is that we are the church. And to be the church God expects us to be, we must put our faith in his Son, yield our lives to the Spirit He has sent, and actively contribute to the work of the church in its mission to reach the lost.

God places everyone in the church just as he desires (1 Corinthians 12:18), so we believe we’re all here together on purpose – let’s be excited, get after it and be the church!
