→ Books:
• Blessed Are the Caregivers (by Danny Cain and Bob Russell)
It is a simple devotional for caretakers of Alzeheimers patients.
• Battlefield of the Mind (by Joyce Meyer)
This resouce discusses a war going on and your mind is the battlefied. I think this would be helpful for anyone but in particular those who struggle with depression, anger, critical thinking, worry, doubt,- or any other damaging thoughts that prevent a person from knowing the peace and freedom of Christ.
• When God Doesn’t Make Sense (by Dr. James Dobson)
This is a wonderful book about our faith in the midst of struggles, trials, heartache, disease and the big question of “Why?”. Lots of relevant stories, and scriptures.
• The Eldercare Handbook (by Stella Mora Henry)
This book explains issues that arise when caring for elderly parents ( ie which sibling is the most appropriate caregiver, sibling roles, stages of dementia and the need for 24hr care, how to select a nursing home, types of long term care, medical crisis preparations, and how to maneuver the medical, legal and insurance maze.)
• When Your World Falls Apart (by David Jeremiah)
The author, David Jeremiah is a pastor who developed lymphoma in 1994. He wrote this book to describe: the valuable lessons he learned, how God is in the center of pain and suffering, the people that God brought alongside him through the crucial times, how God uses “disruptive moments” to teach, sustain, guide and comfort us.
