Discipleship
The work we do to help one another follow Jesus.
“…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always…” – Jesus (Matthew 28)
The Goal
It is our hope and intention to have everything that we do at Vista tie directly back to making disciples. We want to see others come to a place of faith in Christ and grow to become more worshipful, relational and missional in character and action.
Our Context
- 4 key tools: the Bible, leaders, each other and resources.
- 4 key areas: Weekends, Missions, Kids/Students & Groups
- 1 key context: Life-on-Life (living real-life together … making real-life applications)
The Challenge
The Bible is the authoritative document outlining and telling God’s story of restoration in Jesus, and every grain of Biblical truth that is revealed…every insight offered…every lesson learned…should translate into heart and life change. Without Application, Scriptural knowledge is dead.
We take the Bible application, and apply it to our relationships…Life-on-Life. Love one another, teach one another, be reconciled to one another, interpret Scripture together, encourage one another, persevere together, care for one another, etc, etc, etc…

Tools
Sermon Application blog. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that our Sunday morning teaching…the Word of God opened up by our pastor…is a primary mode of discipleship. Biblical preaching is of course powerful by nature, but it can be considered incomplete until it is uniquely and intentionally digested and applied to our lives.
